Grizzly Doga Kutlu signs with UConn

Grizzly Doga Kutlu, a 5-foot, 10-inch setter from Ankara, Turkey, has signed a national letter of intent to continue her collegiate volleyball career at the University of Connecticut in Storrs.

For the past two seasons, Kutlu has been a mainstay for Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) at the setter position. During her two years as a Grizzly, she has recorded 2,616 assists, 10.10 assists per game, 638 digs and 111 service aces.

"We are very excited for Doga and her commitment to further her studies and volleyball career with the UConn Huskies," Grizzly Volleyball Head Coach Paty Figueiredo said. "Doga has been a great asset for our program and a great leader. She developed and contributed to the growth of the team on and off the court.

"As a setter, she led our team in assists totaling 2,616, finishing third in school history in career assists," Figueirdo continued. "This past season she finished fourth in the nation in assists and fifth in the nation in assists per set. She also was selected as a second team All-American at the NJCAA's Division I level.

"We look forward to watching Doga's success and her accomplishments with the Huskies," Figueiredo added.
