Grizzly Volleyball Summer Camp 2024

IT IS OUR FOCUS TO TEACH ATHLETES THE FUNDAMENTALS OF VOLLEYBALL, TEAMWORK, RESPECT, COMMUNICATION AND SPORTSMANSHIP!

LITTLE GRIZZLIES - NEW CAMP!!!!
July 12th and 17th - The camp will focus on Hand, Eye, and Foot coordination and the introduction to volleyball skills. Campers will be divided by stations to work on different skills and coordination movements. The session will be held in an upbeat and colorful environment! Campers will have lots of fun learning and sharing great memories with coaches and other campers. Morning session Entering GRADES 1-5 (9:30am-12:30pm - Check in 8:30am) Afternoon session Entering GRADES 6-8 (2pm - 5pm - Check in 1pm) Open to boys and girls - Limited spots. *PLEASE MAKE SURE THE RIGHT GROUP AGE IS SELECTED FOR YOUR CAMPER*
JULY 10th - 9:00am - 11:30am: SETTING AND HITTING - (Entering grades 9th-12th) *SOLD OUT*
Campers will first be divided into small groups to work on each skill separately and then combined in different drills to apply both skills in game like situations. Open to boys and girls - Limited spots.
JULY 10th - 1:00pm - 3:30pm: BALL HANDLING/PASSING/DEFENSE - (Entering grades 9th-12th) (SOLD OUT} *
The camp is focused on ball control and the understanding of key points on reception and defense. Campers will be divided into groups to work on each specific skill. Open to boys and girls - Limited spots.
JULY 11th - 9:30am - 12:30pm: ALL SKILLS -(Entering grades 9th-12th) (4 SPOTS LEFT) *
The camp is designed to help campers develop all-around skills. Session will be broken down into different skills including serving, passing, defense, attacking, and setting. Campers are trained individually and in game-like situations .Open to boys and girls - Limited spots.
JULY 11th - 2:00pm - 4:30pm: SERVE AND BLOCK - (Entering grades 9th-12th) *
The camp is designed to help players develop the skills and understanding of serving and blocking and how these skills impact the team's defensive system. Players will be taught different types of serve and will work on important keys to improve their blocking skills Open to boys and girls - Limited spots. .
JULY 15th - 1:00pm - 5:00pm: COLLEGE GRIZZLY ID (Entering grades 10th-12th)
If you are interested in playing at the college level, you are invited! The ID camp is structured to ensure campers experience a Grizzly practice day coached by the Grizzly Coaching Staff. Campers will tour our Grizzly facilities and offices and experience a day in the life of a Grizzly player. A Q&A session with MSU West Plains Coaches will be held at the end of camp.
JULY 16th - 9:00am - 11:30am: SIDEOUT/TRANSITION - (Entering grades 9th-12th) *SOLD OUT*
Campers will be combined to work on game situations of defense to hitting (transition) and serve receive to hitting (side out). Open to boys and girls - Limited spots.
JULY 16th - 2:00pm - 5:00pm: GAME DAY - (Entering grades 9th-12th) *SOLD OUT*
Campers will be divided into teams and coached by a camp coach. The first part of the camp session will be focused on team drills. In the second part of camp session campers will play games 6 vs 6 while being instructed by camp coaches.

We/I, hereby request that you accept the application of the named individual above on this form in the 2024 Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzly Volleyball Camps/Clinics during the dates set forth in this application and in consideration of your acceptance of the application, we/I (whether one or more) hereby release the Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzly Volleyball Camps/Clinics and the Board of Governors of Missouri State University and all their employees and agents from all claims on account of any injuries which may be sustained by our/my son or daughter while attending the 2024 Grizzly Volleyball Camps/Clinics and its employees and agents for any claim which may hereafter be presented by our/my minor son or daughter as a result of any such injuries.

Furthermore, I hereby grant Missouri State University-West Plains Volleyball Summer Camp program permission to videotape or photograph my child for future Kids’ College/athletic promotion.

You may walk in and register the day of camp pending current camper numbers. If the camp is full, you will not be allowed to register at that time.

  • Walkups will be welcome but will not be eligible for early registration discount or guarantee of correct VB Camp t-shirt size available.
  • What to bring?   water bottle and tennis shoes. Wear athletic clothes and bring own snacks if needed.
  • Check in and registration will open 1 hour before camp time. - please arrive early.
  • MSU West Plains Camps are open to any & all participants; limited only by age and grade level.
