'Moonlight Madness' will kick off Grizzly Basketball season Monday

West Plains, Mo. – Area fans of Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzly Basketball can take their first look at this year's team and meet the players at the annual Moonlight Madness scrimmage Monday, Oct. 1, at the West Plains Civic Center.

This year's event, sponsored by Savor Grill and BBQ, will begin at 6 p.m. with a cornhole (bean bag toss) tournament.

Player introductions will begin at 7 p.m., followed by a scrimmage and games for fans in which prizes will be awarded.

Members of the Grizzly Basketball and Cheer Teams will sign autographs, and the basketball players will participate in slam dunk and three-point shooting contests. Admission is free.

"I want to thank officials at Savor Grill & BBQ for their support," said Grizzly Basketball Head Coach Chris Popp. "It's a great opportunity for fans to see, get to know and interact with our players

"This group has a lot of personality," Popp added. "They are going to be fun to watch and, I am sure, will be fired up to get on the court for the first time."
